This month has been filled with so many bullying lessons and activities! On October 5th, MES wore blue to help stomp out bullying! On October 21st, we will be United Against Bullying and we will all wear orange. At lunch students will have a chance to write their name on a slip of orange paper to create a unity chain! Here are some books/activities I did with students so far...
Kindergarten: Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns About Bullies by Howard Binkow, One by Kathryn Otoshi
1st grade: The Juice Box Bully by Bob Samson, we created our own Bully Bugs! We also did a workbook titled Hands are Not for Hitting
2nd grade: Bully B.E.A.N.S. by Julia Cook, The Tease Monster by Julia Cook
3rd grade: Simon's Hook by Karen Gedig Burnett. We practiced how to avoid biting the hook!
4th grade: Tough!, Dare!, and Weird! by Erin Frankel.
5th grade: My Secret Bully by Trudy Ludwig. 5th graders also came up with skits to combat bullying.
